New Year's Day at the Pelican Roost!
Mood:  party time!
WOW!! What a helluva party!!

I don't know that I've ever seen so much local talent in one place! Susan, of course, sounded great! Jerry Cook looked right at home on that Roost stage, and both Chucks seemed to be enjoying themselves as well. Lots of familiar faces - Rich Keinle, George and Chuck Shipley and Aaron (sorry if I screwed up the drummer's name!) of Rat Bastard, Joliet Al (wicked harp sounded damn good, man), Chris of TrainWreck, Jay Jackson of Reaction (and Tommy Kerouac was also spotted in the crowd), and Jim Hoehne - who, by the way, sprang for an additional hour of music!!

I believe Journal columnist James Walker was spotted in the crowd as well - does this mean we'll see a review of this great music event in the paper soon??

Jeff & Genie really outdo themselves for their patrons and the musicians every year. Without you guys - Kankakee's live music scene would be hurting! Where else can you go and listen to such great local talent - WITHOUT A COVER CHARGE?!?!?!

And the Roost bartenders are WAAAAYYY better than any others in town!! Melissa, Jen, Dawn and Sarah - some of the friendliest gals taking care of those thirsty musicians and the Roost patrons - you ROCK!
